Student Life and Advising Office
Living in a residence hall is usually a new experience for people. There
are all kinds of adjustments you may need to make in order to be comfortable
in the new environment. The Student Life and Advising Office is here
to help you with these adjustments and to provide you with the opportunity
to have a positive experience living on campus. We accomplish these
goals by organizing social, cultural, educational, and recreational
activities.

Student Activities Office
The Student Activities Office located is responsible for advising Student
Government, overseeing Volunteer Programs, assisting in the management
of the Student Center, and assisting Career Development efforts by coordinating
on-campus events for students, faculty and staff, the Student Activities,
Community Service and Career Development Office also offers the opportunity
for students to participate in leadership positions to help develop
organizational, communication, negotiation and listening skills while
engaging in enjoyable activities.
As a CHU student, you can participate in any recreational event the University sponsors. Activities such as horseback riding, snow skiing, ice-skating, bike riding, camping, hiking, river-rafting, and visiting amusement parks have been very successful. If you have an interest in activities that are not offered, you may speak with the Coordinator of Activities, Community Service and Career Development, to have those activities planned. Home Stay Office
The Home Stay Office facilitates direct relationships between foreign
students and American families. If you are a foreign student, you will
discover that living and visiting in this setting, even if only briefly,
provides an enlightening and memorable experience. The Home Stay Office
is also located in the Administration Building, Room 214. The telephone
number is (303) 937-4226.
Health Services
All CHU students are required to carry health insurance. If students
do not arrive with health insurance coverage, CHU will assist them in
obtaining coverage from a carrier in the United States. Students may
also obtain dental insurance coverage through the Office of Student
Services and Residence Life.. CHU works closely with a number of doctors
in the metropolitan area to make appropriate referrals and follow through.
In addition, CHU Security Officers or residence hall staff are available
to assist students with any medical emergencies that may arise.
Public Safety Office
Call (303) 937-4555 if you need to contact a Public Safety Officer.
The Public Safety offices are in Room 104, which is located on the
first floor of the Administration Building. Public Safety Officers
are available to provide escorts and assistance with medical emergencies
on campus at any time.
