Nicholas Bowlby – (303) 937-4027 – e-mail:

Denver, CO, October 20, 2009. Colorado Heights University (www.chu.edu) today announced that it is reducing the tuition to newly enrolling Colorado students to its Undergraduate programs, from $250 per credit hour to $180 per credit hour.  This reduction in tuition will apply to new students enrolling in either the Spring or Summer semester in 2010.  The savings on tuition is in the form of an institutional grant offered by Colorado Heights University.

“The traditional mind-set has been that a college education must be costly, and that tuitions will always increase." said Dr. Yeager, CHU President. "Adult learners continue to place a high value on post-secondary education, and research shows that they are now increasingly attracted to degree programs that are affordable and have direct relevance to their careers. This is why we have made an effort to provide a more affordable option for a university education to those in the Denver community who are looking to advance to the next level in their careers.”

“The B.A. degree in International Business in the Okinaga School of Business provides a firm foundation for career advancement. A global perspective is provided in the classroom due to the eclectic mix of students from around the world.  This offers ample opportunities for students to discuss and work with peers from more than 30 countries on such topics as finance, economics, marketing, management skills and ethical codes of conduct, thereby framing curriculum within a global perspective.

Colorado Heights University now occupies the campus of Loretto Heights College, which started its operations in Denver in 1879. The college at that time became the most prestigious women’s college in the Western United States, and is now Colorado’s most historic campus with its iconic tower that can be seen from miles away. The campus is now fully co-educational and consists of 19 buildings located on 76-acres of trees and beautifully landscaped lawns. The campus houses the largest Americorps operation in the United States. It is also home to Augustine Institute and Southwest Early College.

Denver, CO, October 20, 2009. Colorado Heights University (www.chu.edu) today announced the addition to the Okinaga School of Business graduate program of an MBA degree with an emphasis in environmental management.   Graduate classes for this concentration will begin in January, 2010 as part of the spring semester at Colorado Heights University.

“More than ever before, major companies and entrepreneurial ventures are seeking competitive advantage and success by embracing sustainability – social and environmental responsibility – as a core business strategy. The Okinaga School of Business at Colorado Heights University MBA with Emphasis in Environmental Management explores issues businesses are facing in a world where resources are scarce, social safety nets are declining, and customers and commentators are concerned about companies behaving in ethical and responsible ways to preserve earth resources.  The program intends to develop farsighted leaders that recognize that this new way of doing business requires new skills in business management for maintaining a balance between a sustainable environment and a profitable enterprise.”

"Clearly, there is a demand for such a degree, especially in an area that is as environmentally conscious as Colorado," says Dr. Brad Yeager, CHU President. "Sustainability is a subject of interest to many students, and it is of course an increasingly important responsibility for business and industry. Therefore, CHU has designed an MBA program that blends business acumen with sound environmental knowledge, policies and practices. We believe that graduates from this concentration will be in demand and that they will be equipped to make an important contribution to society."

Nicholas Bowlby – (303) 937-4027 – e-mail:

Denver, CO, July 20, 2009. Teikyo Loretto Heights University announced today that it has completed all state, federal, and ACICS requirements to change the name of the university to Colorado Heights University. “In the past, the university focused only on bringing Japanese students for short periods of time to study here and to experience American culture and business practices,” said Tony Sanichara, the CEO. “Because of this Asian legacy and the fact that Denver is a culturally vibrant and diverse city, and that the university is located in the heart of this diverse community of Hispanics, Vietnamese, Koreans, Mongolians and Russian immigrants, we have become the university of choice for a diverse student population from around Asia, and Eastern Europe.” He added.

“We have changed our focus and Mission to meet the needs of our target student population. We are now a focused business university offering an exciting mix of business and professional programs. Asian countries need business managers and the US business education is still the most valuable and coveted education in the world.” Tony said. “We offer the best value that money can buy.”

“Colorado Heights University continues a long history and tradition of excellence in education and service to our nation.” Tony said. “Now we are extending this tradition in the form of Colorado Heights University to the residents of Colorado and to the developing nations of Asia. We are now a part of a new breed of American universities that will not be limited by antiquated thinking that restricts the scope of our operations to within the borders of our state. We are a global university and we are taking our university to the nations of Asia. We offer a complete suite of business programs to our local and international students. Our School of English, English Pathways of CHU, offers a full range of fully accredited ESL programs. Students can seamlessly move from ESL, to an Associate Degree program, then to an Undergraduate program, and finally to one of our MBA with concentrations or industry specific MBAs.”

“We are fortunate to be accredited by ACICS, the most progressive accrediting body in the United States. ACICS also has schools in the international space and unlike other accrediting bodies, works with their member schools to facilitate the implementation of their business plans while ensuring that there is no dilution of program quality, and setting practices for monitoring and maintaining strict compliance to ACICS standards.” Tony concluded.

Nicholas Bowlby – (303) 937-4027 – e-mail:

Denver, CO, July 22, 2009. Colorado Heights University (www.chu.edu) today announced the launch of its new school of business, The Okinaga School of Business. CHU is an ACICS accredited university located on Colorado’s most historic and famous campus, formerly known as Loretto Heights College, which began its operations in 1879.

“It is fitting that we launch this business school, named after our benefactor, Dr. Shoichi Okinaga. We are now a university that will focus on building a global platform for management education, training, and career development,” said Tony Sanichara, the CEO and CFO of the university.

In line with its Mission to “provide affordable access to the highest quality of American business education anywhere…” the university will be launching campuses throughout Asia, the first of which will be in Vietnam.

The university now targets low/middle income students in the US and in Asia. “These are the people who need access but cannot get it because they have been systematically ignored through pricing and recruiting policies. We are driven by our new vision to target these students in the US and in developing nations, classified by C K Prahalad and Harvey C Freuhauf, Professors of Corporate Strategy and International Business at The University of Michigan Business School, as being at the Bottom of the Pyramid, the “BOP Market.” “We believe that education is the essential tool by which we can break the cycle of poverty and bring opportunities that will open the door to economic prosperity, social mobility, and self-esteem,” said Tony Sanichara.

Under the Okinaga School of Business, the university now offers a compelling mix of business programs. It has an undergraduate degree in International Business with several valuable and relevant minors. At the graduate level, it plans to offer six different tracks. “We believe in functional concentrations at the MBA level because these concentrations provide students in developing countries with the useable skills that will position them on a fast track to the C-team,” Tony remarked. The university now offers MBAs with concentrations in Finance, Accounting, and Health Care Management. There will be other concentrations and multiple professional programs, such as a Masters in Finance - with such concentrations as Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, and Financial Institution Management – and a Masters in Professional Accounting.

Colorado Heights University now occupies the campus of Loretto Heights College, which started its operations in Denver in 1879. The College became the most prestigious women’s college in the Western United States and is now Colorado’s most historic campus with its iconic tower that can be seen from miles away. Colorado Heights University Announces Entrepreneurial Center of Expertise

Press Release – For Immediate Release

Nicholas Bowlby – (303) 937-4027 – e-mail:

Denver, CO, July 22, 2009. Colorado Heights University (www.chu.edu) today announced the launch of its Entrepreneurial Center of Expertise. CHU is an ACICS accredited university located on Colorado’s most historic and famous campus, formerly known as Loretto Heights College, which began its operations in 1879.

Our Vision is to “become a leading provider of management and entrepreneurial education and through this activity, make a significant contribution to the eradication of poverty,” said Tony Sanichara, the CEO of the university. “Our business is to provide people, who are in the lower to middle income demographics in the US and in Asia whose desire is to start and/or manage businesses, with functional American best business practices that will allow them to achieve their dreams, live lives of significance, and make meaningful contributions to their respective families and nations,” Tony continued

“In our target market, entrepreneurship and innovation are pervasive. It is a natural outcome of a reality that forces people to live and support their families with less. What we must do is move away from the same old charity approach to “helping” the so-called “poor” and practice “inclusive capitalism.” We must bring a discipline rooted in the American entrepreneurial culture, the culture of Boston, or Silicon Valley, to this group of people and connect them with funding sources and strategies that will help them to become successful and change their lives from being in an on-going cycle of poverty to one of upward mobility and economic prosperity,” said the CEO.

Closer to home, Colorado is a state that also flourishes on small businesses and entrepreneurship. “It is fitting to connect our university with local entrepreneurs. In close proximity to our university are communities of immigrants who are small business owners, who need advice, education, and funding to get their businesses on a successful track. The university has started a relationship with the SBA and SCORE of Denver to establish a SCORE center on its campus that will allow its MBA students to provide volunteer services to small business owners as part of the process of building a culture of service that will become valuable when they return to their respective home countries,” said Camie York, Director of Business Operations.

On a larger scale, this Center and others in Finance and Accounting, will serve as a focal point of business development and growth for smaller business. “Small business owners simply cannot afford to conduct business development activities on the scale common with large corporations. Yet they have the same need to find new markets, to grow, and to connect with channel partners and like minded entrepreneurs,” said Tony Sanichara. “Perhaps the greatest value is the connection, the global networks and business round-tables that will be formed, and the subsequent economic benefits that will result from the activities of these centers. Through these Centers, we become the undeniable preferred corporate partner.” Tony concluded.

Among other MBAs with concentrations, CHU will offer its MBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurship that will be launched in 2010.
